A little bit about me.

My name is Suzanne. I stumbled upon Somatics approximately 10 years ago when I was looking for a movement class that fitted in around my daughter being at school.
I soon became hooked and couldn't beleive what a difference such a gentle practice could make to my body.
About 3 years ago I began looking into changing my career. I had worked as a nurse for children with disabilities for over 20 years and most recently supporting children with special educational needs in school.
All 3 of my own children are neurodivergent so I was looking for work that was more flexible.
I decided to look into becoming a Somatic Movement teacher. I eventually started my training in February 2026 and qualified at the beginning of October.
Somatics has changed my life and I can't wait to help others learn how Somatics can change their life too.
About Us
Somatics is a very gentle movement practice that teaches you how to reprogramme muscles that have become so tight they can no longer voluntarily relax.
This can lead to pain, postural imbalances and other health issues.
Using a technique called pandiculation you learn how to release these muscles. Somatic movements can help relieve pain and allow your body to move more freely.
Many people are unaware that they have chronically tight muscles until they practice somatic movements.
Learning somatic movements can enable you to move with more comfort, ease and flexibility.
Even if you have a limited range of movement, Somatics is a great place to begin.
It is not just an "exercise" class. This mindful practice also helps to de-stress your nervous system and can leave you feeling deeply relaxed , calmer and restore your energy.
Most somatic movements are carried out lying on the floor, so the ability to get up and down off the floor is helpful.
However, most movements can be adapted for people who need to sit in a chair.
